Reviews

It is not common to find a singer who has an exceptionally pleasant sounding voice in the lower reaches of the male register; still less is it likely that those who do have an extraordinary sound have command of extremely impressive technique. Mark Uhlemann is one of the few who are gifted with supremely beautiful timbre and who have mastered technique. This evening's performance proved to be a truly impressive New York debut from this young bass-baritone.

Mark Uhlemann fired off some exciting bass notes as Pistol.

–Opera News

Mark Uhlemann's warmly resonant, darkly burnished timbre was impressive, dramatic and nuanced.

–Chicago Tribune

One could recognize that in baritone Mark Uhlemann there was a beautiful voice and great sense of the line.

–FanFaire.com

Powerful voices rocked the intimate hall with New York bass-baritone Mark Uhlemann... giving an otherwise uneven double bill a strong professional backbone.

–ArtsSF.com

Mark Uhlemann sang beautifully. . . demonstrating a voice of power and variety of color as well as fine musicianship.

–Manchester Journal

With a combination of tenacity and talent, this young bass-baritone knows how to bring selections for the deepest voice to life.

–The Observer-Reporter (PA)

There was no confusion about his musicianship, and the beauty of his voice - as if jealous, even the heavens broke forth to compete with one of his solo appearances.
